MGA Player of the Year

This past weekend marked the end of the 2014 golf season for the Quail Hollow Men's Golf Associations. After another great season, it was time to determine which individual would take home the 2014 Player of the Year honor.

The MGA wrapped up their season on Saturday with the top 24 players from throughout the year competing in one last event to gain points towards P.O.Y. honors.  Mark Lodwick took home the title with a net 68 on the Devlin course, earning him an additional 150 points to qualify for the shootout!

Following the tournament, the Top 10 point leaders went directly into a shootout to ultimately determine who would take home the 2014 P.O.Y. title.  The ten men, followed by a substantial gallery, played the first 5 holes on the Devlin course, eliminating two men per hole.  The results were as follows:

1. Jim Raimondo
2. Bill Ritchie
T3. Jack Waterwash
T3. Pat Aquila
T5. Craig Dunlap
T5. Mark Lodwick
T7. Mike Manno
T7. Gary Greben
T9. Tony Humbert
T9. Kevin Huster

Congratulations to Jim Raimondo for taking home the shootout title!  However, after all points were calculated, the bonus points were not enough to take over the first place position.  With a total of 607.5 points, the 2014 MGA Player of the Year title goes to:

Mike Manno

Mike took home the title of First Flight Individual Match Play Champion, and The MGA Ryder Cup Champion along with his partner Pat Aquila this year. Congratulations Mike on a great year of golf!
